If you choose to spray on your lacquer, be certain to work in a very well-ventilated environment. The solvents in lacquer have a particularly strong odor, and are quite flammable.

Lacquer Finish
Lacquer finishes have been used for centuries to give woodworking projects a tough, durable and water-resistant clear finish. Today's lacquers are available in both spray and brush-on styles, but both have the advantage of being among the fastest-drying of all woodworking finishes. Brushing a lacquer finish requires a little more time and effort, but is probably a little bit cleaner than spraying.Should you choose to spray on your lacquer finish, you can either buy it directly in individual aerosol spray cans or for use in a pneumatic or airless sprayer. Using aerosol cans will be a much more expensive solution, but for small projects, they are unbeatable.
