Cedar Goblet

It would seem the softer the wood, the harder it is to turn.

This was left over from some cedar posts I had bought at home depot for a different project (fence). Took me 3 blanks just to get this, and I’m still displeased with it. Horribly displeased. But my wife likes it, so I guess that’s all that matters.

Sits 3 inches tall, finished with walnut oil. Looks very rough on the inside, I just didn’t feel like sanding it for another hour. Oh well, ever onward, I suppose. Any advice on turning very soft woods?
